What do the Jaycees do?
The New Braunfels Jaycees assist local organizations, volunteer at community events, and offer scholarships to local high school students. We are a non-profit organization and receive no financial support from any government agencies. All funds are raised through community events such as Film Fest, a Magic Show, food booth sales at the Comal County Fair, Wurstfest, Wassailfest, Wein and Saengerfest, and other local festivals.
Money raised through these endeavors goes toward scholarships at New Braunfels, Canyon, and Smithson Valley High School. We also provide financial assistance to the Senior Citizen Center, JROTC, NBHS Booster Club, Communities in Schools, New Braunfels Blue Santa, the NBU blanket drive and many more.
In addition to our philanthropic activities, we also get together several times a year for social activities. We hold banquets, float down the river, go out for dinner, get together for bowling parties, and celebrate the holidays in our own special way. There's always something going on!
